Incident summary
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said a woman walking near Washington Street and the Gamaliel soccer field was attacked by four dogs on Dec. 30, 2025. Deputies reported deep lacerations, including injuries reaching bone, broken bones and crush injuries. EMS took her to The Medical Center at Bowling Green before she was flown to Nashville because of the severity of her injuries. One dog was located near East Main Street and euthanized; three remained at large at the time of the initial release.
Later court-record reporting said Dawson A. Groce and Jacob M. Warren were cited for harboring vicious animals in connection with the Dec. 30–31 events. BiteDB records those as citations/allegations, not convictions. Early reporting did not establish whether the same dogs were involved in both attacks; later citation reporting described four dogs running loose over the two-day period.
